Believe in the Creativity of Your Soul

Expressive Art Journaling

Background Pages and then what?

Hi artists!

As some of you know I have been facilitating expressive art journaling classes for awhile now.

Self expression is what it is all about in art journaling.  So, what about all those fun background pages we have created with by playing with paint?

Yes, painting background  is a wonderful way to get rid of the blank page and have fun intuitively creating color combination, movement, swirls, stamps, stencils, you name it!

And, so with some pages we have to wait patiently for the right images and/or words to go with it.  And then some pages maybe no clue?

How bout one word?  One image?  If you have no trouble at all filling your pages with images and words that give purpose and meaning your page and your intent, then keep going!  When you just don’t feel like an image can fit try writing one word.

In my case I wrote believe on the right page and sing on the other. And then I just let those words sit for awhile.

Reflect, wait until the next words come.  We don’t have to strain for it.  There will be more words if necessary.

Try your handwriting or printing in pencil first and then simply use a pen/marker on top.

Stamping or stenciling letters is another choice.

Believe!  After reflection I will write what comes next. Perhaps it will say

believe in the creativity of your soul…..
