What can I say, at the end of the day my passion beyond painting music is playing music with friends and dancing to it. I love playing my djembe, cajon and my new acoustic bass guitar! My love for music can be seen in many of my paintings over the years.
Check out this video link to many of my paintings inspired by music!

Hi friends,
My latest painting series features my love for the ocean, living near it in Central Florida,
and being concerned over the health of our oceans.
Also, I wanted to return to painting with a trowel and palette knife. It was quite freeing not working with a paintbrush and learning how to give up control of some of the mark making.

Greetings Everyone,
As a professional artist, art educator, and art therapist I truly enjoy facilitating expressive art journaling workshops.
Even if I only have a few minutes to be creative on a busy day, I can play around in my art journal.
I have created my first follow along free video on painting backgrounds.
It is only one way to use acrylic paint to paint background pages but hope you can open up your mixed media journal and follow along here!
Feel free on giving me any constructive criticism on how to improve videos.

A few years I traveled with my husband to Big Sur for the first time. The Pacific Coast Highway is one of the most beautiful traveling highways I have ever been on. I took a photo while I was there and here is the result being this painting of Big Sur.
I don’t know exactly where the road has been washed out in the huge landslide but now that the part of the highway is buried under tons of rocks the landscape has changed and man has to figure out how to change with it.
Anyway, I have enjoyed having this painting with me and I want to share this painting so it is available on Etsy so check it out. Payment plans available so send me a message with any inquiry at all.
Enjoy! Click here on LaurasPaintbrush for more information.
Hi Friends,
So every year in our backwoods just before Spring,
the leaves of our Pignut Hickory tree unfold as if they are flowers! The new leaves appear pink before fully opening and turning green! This is so fascinating to me. Below I have documented the photo of the event. Above is my original painting of it. This Pignut Hickory Tree is native to Florida so I also included the native Zebra butterfly.
Anyone else find this fascinating?
Here is he original photo I took.

A Day in the LIfe is my latest painting based on a lovely banana bloom I once witnessed while eating ice cream in New Smyrna Beach under this tree. Years later while painting it, I went to the kitchen to see a red rat snake peeking out from behind our refridgerator! So, the snake is now in the painting!
Here is online gallery link to size and details.
Hi Friends,
Here is one of my latest paintings. I live in Florida and a few months back I saw the last magnolia flowers fall off our front yard Magnolias. I missed their fragrant blooms and so continued their lovely bloom with a tribute in paint!
I have been exploring adding collage and paint to my art journal but have been a bit afraid of adding collage elements into my paintings on canvas even though I add them to paintings on board.
So, I managed to add a little collage to this one, including the scientific name of the flower
This painting is now featured at De La Vegas restaurant in downtown DeLand, Florida.
It is also available on Etsy
